Canucks 5 @ Senators 2 (Final)
The Canucks is on a three-game winning streak, in fact they have won seven in their last eight games, and these wins couldn’t have come at a better time. Just when things were looking really bad for Vigneualt, after the nine games winless streak, AV shuffled the lines a bit, spreading the inseparable Kesler and Burrows throughout the top two lines, and things never looked better for the team.
Things have surely settled down within the Canucks, as no-one ever wins with constant juggling of the line-up. Confidence among players are built this way, and it also shows the confidence of the coach by having such consistency. This pays off nicely in tonight’s game, as the Sedins were on fire playing along Alex Burrows. Henrik, alone had a four point night, with 1 goals and 3 assists. The RPM line was also on the scoreboard with an empty-netter by Demitra.
The Canucks remain at the 5th in the west with this win, but the Blue Jackets have the same points, except they have played one more game than we have. The next game will be on Saturday in Toronto, and much media hype will surround the returning of Mats Sundin to Toronto. TSN is having a poll on “to boo or not to boo”, but I think it will be interesting as usually the returning player tends to play a much better game than usual. The Canucks need to win against bottom teams at this point in the season, as the race for the playoff is still very tight in the West. Although the Leafs now sits third last overall in the standings, we all know there are no easy games in the league today.
Just found out that Henrik has been voted by NHL.com as the League’s third star in tonight’s matches, it’s been a while since a Canuck was voted a star, so this is good~
Good luck guys in T.O.!!
